Nurturing Growth as the School Year Begins
As the leaves change and we enter a new school year, we at Spreading Childcare remain dedicated to building academic confidence in childcare. Our focus goes beyond numbers and letters — we aim to build confidence, curiosity, and character in every child.
At Spreading Childcare, we believe that building academic confidence in childcare begins with nurturing trust, curiosity, and a love for learning. Our goal is simple: to support every child’s learning journey, strengthen their foundation, and walk alongside families every step of the way. From infancy through after-school programs, every moment of care helps children grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually through gentle structure and meaningful experiences.
Below is how we nurture growth in every classroom—from infants to preschoolers—using research-based practices, caring staff, and an environment that blends academic and social-emotional development.
Infant Room: Where Care and Confidence Begin
Infancy is a time of rapid brain development. Patterns of trust, communication, and engagement begin here — the earliest building blocks of academic confidence.
Our caregivers receive ongoing professional development, including training in social-emotional care such as Conscious Discipline strategies for infants. Through responsive care, every baby’s cues—for sleep, hunger, or comfort—are observed and honored. As a result, they feel secure and begin to communicate early.
We also include music, movement, and sensory play. Activities such as tummy time, gentle touch, and soothing sounds support neural growth and bonding. A consistent daily routine helps infants feel safe and builds early habits for future learning.

Pre-K3: Exploring Through Play to Build Confidence and Curiosity
At the Pre-K3 level, children begin to explore, speak, and connect more deeply with others — an essential part of building confidence and independence.
We weave early literacy and numeracy into every day through story time, rhymes, counting games, and hands-on learning. In addition, we emphasize character, kindness, and empathy during play and group discussions.
Our classrooms use familiar, research-based approaches such as HighScope and Creative Curriculum. These create structured, meaningful learning centers where children can make choices and explore independently. As they rotate among literacy, art, and science areas, they also reflect on what they learned—building both independence and critical thinking skills.
GSRP: Bridging to Kindergarten
Our Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) prepares 4-year-olds for kindergarten success and lifelong learning.
We follow the GOLD assessment framework, which measures growth across literacy, math, social, and cognitive domains. Each day balances teacher-led small groups, large group time, and reflection. This rhythm helps children learn planning, focus, and review skills — all key parts of academic confidence.
In literacy and math, children practice phonemic awareness, early writing, problem-solving, and patterning. Equally important, we build social-emotional readiness through cooperative play, self-regulation, and conflict resolution.
Because our staff are experienced and consistent, children experience both stability and high-quality instruction every day.

Beyond Preschool: After-School Care That Builds Confidence and Skill
Our after-school care provides peace of mind and academic continuity for families until 6:00 PM.
School-age students receive homework help, academic practice, and structured group activities. They continue learning in a space that blends fun with accountability and builds academic confidence beyond the classroom.
We emphasize English Language Arts, Math, and social growth. With trained staff who already know your child, the transition from school to after-school care feels smooth and secure.

Nurture trust, curiosity, and communication from the very start.
-
Layer literacy, numeracy, and character development step by step.
-
Provide stability so children feel safe, seen, and confident.
